James Wolfe Murray

General Sir James Murray KCB was a British Army officer who served in the Fourth AngloAshanti War, Second Boer War and World War I. He became Chief of the Imperial General Staff three months after the start of World War I, but was ineffectual and was replaced in September 1915 following the failure of the Dardanelles campaign.
